The Cathedral of Christ the Savior on Kropotkinskaya is one of the main functioning churches of the Russian Orthodox Church. It was built as a monument to the Russian soldiers who heroically fought and won the war with Napoleon and in gratitude to God for their help in the struggle and intercession. As you know, in Soviet times, the temple was blown up and then rebuilt. Since then, it has become a symbol of Moscow, one of its most famous attractions and a place of pilgrimage for tourists and Christian believers from all over the world. The main shrine of the temple is a piece of the Lord’s Robe, which people from different countries come to worship.
